Ethernet Connection (Windows) Open the Windows Start Menu, type "services" and "Run as administrator." Scroll to the bottom and double click on "Wired AutoConfig" (note: if it is already set to run "Automatically" and it is started, you can go to Step 4). Setup Startup type to be "Automatic", press "Start" to start the service, then press "OK." Open Windows Settings by clicking on the start menu (bottom-right of desktop) and clicking on the gear icon. Click on "Network & Internet." Click "Ethernet" on the left followed by "Change adapter options" on the right. Double-click the "Ethernet" icon (note: it may say "Local Area Network") and then select "Properties." Click on folder "Authentication". Make sure all radio boxes are checked, especially "Enable IEEE 802.1X authentication" one. Make sure the network authentication method is "Protected EAP (PEAP)." Click on "Settings" (note: "Additional Settings" is circled because you will need click it for Step 11). Make sure "Verify server's identity by validating the certificate" in NOT checked. Make sure "Enable Fast Connect" is checked. Click on "Configure." Make sure "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any)" is NOT checked and click "OK." Select "OK" twice to save the changes and exit the EAP Properties. Then select "Additional Settings" and make sure "Specify authentication mode" is checked and set to "User authentication". Press "OK." You should now be set up to use the Bowes Center's ethernet connection.
