Google Photos and iPhone
Any photos stored in Google Photos counts against your SFCM Google storage quota.
Make sure your phone is not backing up to the SFCM Google photos. Your personal phone should be backing up images to your personal account.
To check storage:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Photos app .
- Sign in to your Google Account.
- At the top, tap your Profile picture or Initial.
- Tap Google Photos settings Backup Manage storage.
- At the top, you’ll find an estimate of how long it will take to fill your storage. If there is storage in there, you are currently backing up your photos to to the SFCM Google account. Please change to your personal account if this is for personal photos on your personal phone.
Turn on iCloud to back up your photos on iPhone
Go to Settings > [your name].
Tap iCloud.
Tap Photos, then tap the switch next to Sync this [device].
Turn on iCloud to back up your photos on MAC
Choose Apple menu > System Settings or choose Apple menu > System Preferences.
Click Apple ID.
Click iCloud in the sidebar, then select Photos.
Click the switch next to Sync this Mac.
To clean up storage
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Photos app .
- Sign in to your Google Account.
- At the top, tap your Profile picture or Initial.
- Tap Google Photos settings Backup Manage storage.
- Under "Review and delete," select any category.
- Tap Select.
- Select the items you want to delete.
- Tap Move to trash .
