1. Start by clicking the Apple logo from your desktop and selecting System Preferences
  2. Next, click Network
  3. In the following prompt, click the "+" to create a new VPN connection. In the menu that pops up, select/set the following options and then click Create
    • Interface: VPN
    • VPN Type: L2TP over IPSec
    • Service Name: type SFCM VPN
  4. Select SFCM VPN from the list on the left. Select/set the following options and then click Apply.
    • Configuration: leave as Default
    • Server Address: vpn.sfcm.net
    • Account Name: input your SFCM computer/network username
  5. On that same window, click Authentication Settings. Then, fill in the Password and Shared Secret fields. Click OK
    • Password: your SFCM computer/network password
    • Shared Secret: please contact it@sfcm.edu
  6. After you have clicked OK, it should take you back to the main window. Click Advanced.
    • On the Options tab, check the box next to Send all traffic over VPN connection
    • On the DNS tab, click the "+" icon under the Search Domains section & add "sfcm.sfcm.edu" (no quotation marks). Click OK
    • Afterwards, you should see the original settings window. Click Apply
