- Start by clicking the Apple logo from your desktop and selecting System Preferences
- Next, click Network
- In the following prompt, click the "+" to create a new VPN connection. In the menu that pops up, select/set the following options and then click Create
- Interface: VPN
- VPN Type: L2TP over IPSec
- Service Name: type SFCM VPN
- Select SFCM VPN from the list on the left. Select/set the following options and then click Apply.
- Configuration: leave as Default
- Server Address: vpn.sfcm.net
- Account Name: input your SFCM computer/network username
- On that same window, click Authentication Settings. Then, fill in the Password and Shared Secret fields. Click OK
- Password: your SFCM computer/network password
- Shared Secret: please contact it@sfcm.edu
- After you have clicked OK, it should take you back to the main window. Click Advanced.
- On the Options tab, check the box next to Send all traffic over VPN connection
- On the DNS tab, click the "+" icon under the Search Domains section & add "sfcm.sfcm.edu" (no quotation marks). Click OK
- Afterwards, you should see the original settings window. Click Apply
- On the Options tab, check the box next to Send all traffic over VPN connection
